MEET LUKE TANNER
Luke Tanner was raised in Corinth, Mississippi, where country, Southern rock, blues, bluegrass, and gospel helped shape his playing. He learned by listening to records, performing at local events, and sitting in with musicians throughout the region. Greg met Luke through musicians working the Tennessee–Mississippi circuit. Luke understood how to build the music around Greg's voice and lyrics without overpowering the story. His versatility made him essential to the sound of 18 GEARS. Luke can deliver a strong electric guitar lead, support a ballad with acoustic guitar, provide the steady rhythm behind a road song, or bring out the banjo when a track needs a traditional country or backroad feel. Easygoing away from the music and intensely focused while playing, Luke will continue working on an arrangement until every part supports the song. Hometown: Corinth, Mississippi Role: Lead Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Rhythm Guitar, and Banjo Signature Sound: Melodic lead guitar, driving country rhythm, warm acoustic playing, and energetic banjo.
